Are you a recent graduate?
Or looking for a career change?

Hi my name is Chris Brown; after we graduate high school we have 2 choices #1 go get a job and join the real word or #2 get a degree.

We have been told a college education is our ticket to success. This is an industrial age idea, however, where are we now? Aren’t we in the information age?

Before the depression everyone owned their own business, people were black smith, store owners, seamstresses, ect…

Then the depression of 1929 is when our grand parents started to tell their kids to go to school get an education and get a job with a big company and work your way to the top. And your parents told you this and my generation is telling our kids this as well.

This was sound advice in 1930 during the industrial age.

In the information age, it does not work the same. If we are privileged to go to school and get a degree our degree will be obsolete in 7 years. Statistics show you are
90% less likely to become a millionaire if you go to school. Business Week did a feature story “30 And Broke: The True Value of a College Education”click here

Majority of the most successful people in the world are high school and Collage Drop outs, look at Bill Gates. My friend Buck Reed from St. Joseph Michigan

college

went to school spent $90,000 in tuitions and when he graduated the best job he could get would only pay him $25,000 a year. He would not be out of debt till he was 50 years old if he paid the minimum payments for his student loans. His part-time business which was supposed to help him get through college earned him around $100,000 a year as a lawn mower.

There is a book called “Real World Careers” which talks about how college can actually show people what to do to reach their dreams. As we read about Buck Reed’s college degree experience, it took him 6 years to get his double degree but in about 3 years he become a millionaire not using the skills he learned from his degree.

In today’s job market it is not a college education but solid basic skills that many employers look for. “Enterprise Rent a Car” required a college degree to work as a customer service representitive. AMT required a college degree or to be currently enrolled in college and pays $14.00 hr in Los Angeles California. But who can live on that in LA where rent is over $1000 per month.

Apprenticeship is great options to College degree of those surveyed apprenticeships earns an average of close to $30 an hour. Not many college grads even earn this as mentioned about AMT.

There are also vocational schools, certification programs, internships, and other programs. I like to do things on my own, which you can do as a sales person or as on entrepreneur.

According to the Department of Labor sales people and entrepreneurs are the most highly paid careers. Majority of companies would never hire me as a business consultant without a degree, but I am doing it on my own and even with a degree I would not earn the income I am able to earn as a business owner.

Whether you’re starting out on a new career or just entering into the job market the wisest choices is to become a business owner. Business owners have more time freedom and earn bigger incomes than other industries out there. In addition to the many tax breaks you are entitled to as a business owner.

We have been conditioned to be an employee in school, so now that we want to be a business owner many people say the businesses you start are SCAMS and things of this sort. Well they are not SCAMS! School did not teach you the skills on how to be a business owner. Did you learn how to sell? Write sales copy? Learn the difference of an asset and a liability? The ANSWER is no!

In some cases it may take some time to learn the skills you need. You can learn the skill to make a living online pretty quickly. For example, one gentleman I worked with in his first 7-14 days of being in business, but after I talked with him him earned almost $400. I’m sure within his first 30-90 days he was able to make a full-time living.

When it comes to get rich and or wealthy this may take years to learn depending on where you are. For exampl, a mom who never owned a business before compared to a mortgage broker changing careers, who do you think is going to make $10,000 per month first? Even an 18 year old kid graduating high school who has computer knowledge would probably run a successful internet business fairly quickly.

They say it takes about 10,000 hours in education to become rich which takes about 5 years. It just depends on where we are in our business education and how fast you get through this education.

Here is a great resource to learn how to start your own business. Robert K. the author of the #1 best selling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad ” has a video that shows you what is his #1 choice for people who start their own business.
