Hi my name is Chris Brown; what most people do is they focus on their craft and talent. Talent has nothing to do with it. It is all about our ability to sell ourselves.

If it was really about talent than we would not know who Jessica Simpson is. One report said on the set of one of her movie they had to give her an ear monitor and read her the lines because she could not remember them.

What most people do is go out on audition after audition after audition. How many auditions can you go out on in a week? Well if you live here in Los Angeles maybe one a day with all the crazy traffic.

This is what everyone else does. What you want to do is think outside of the box. Vin Diesel of Saving Private Ryan, XXX, Fast and the Furious, and other block buster did things different than anyone else.

He had a side business which was his primary source of income. He financed his own movie cast himself as the star took it to a film festival and Steven Spielberg saw it cast him in private Ryan and the rest is history.

We all know who Metallica is but back in the day no one knew who they were but their fans. Their songs were so long hence not radio friendly so nobody wanted them. They were selling out stadiums with no song on the radio or any music videos.

On the other hand Jewel got the record deal but no one wanted to play her songs on the radio. She pick up the phones called the radio stations arranged on air


	interviews and her album started selling all because she marketed herself. How many talented people have we never heard about because of failing to market themselves. The record companies chased them. Which is smarter to go out on auditions or to market your self earn an income in the entertainment industry and get the

attention of entertainment industry. Or is it smarter to work a job and go out on auditions in your spare time.

I am by no means saying not to go out on auditions or do what ever you need in order to get booked but I’m saying to do both. It is much easier to have them chase you instead of you chasing them.

Its time to build your entertainment business and get paid: Majority of people in the entertainment industry work a flexible and most time low paying job in order to go after their dream. It does not have to be that way.

You can make a great living marketing yourself. I know authors who marketed their books themselves and earn more money than people who have had their books published by publishing companies.

One gentleman has earned over $30,000,000 selling his own books and has never been published by a publishing company but has been self published.

You can sell many promotional products that sell you. If you’re an actor, model, musician you can sell posters, clothes, and membership web site. If you a cartoonist or artist you could sell these things with your works printed on them.
